Groom’s cakes are very popular. Instead of having the beautiful wedding cake alone, which is often designed by the bride, couples are now adding the Groom’s cake. Sometimes this is a surprise for the groom and sometimes he designs it.
I love helping my Brides and Grooms design their Groom’s Cakes. It is always so much fun. Ideas for these can come from any area of his interests. They can be as simple as a round cake with a design added or an elaborate carved cake.
Some thought should go into how and where the Groom’s cake will be displayed. These cakes should have their own decorated table. Bring items into the table decorations that follow the theme of the Groom’s cake. It should also be placed in a location where all your guests will get the chance to enjoy seeing it.
If the Groom’s cake is to be served at the reception, instead of the rehersal dinner, it should be included in the serving count for the wedding cake. You do not need to have a Groom’s cake that never gets cut.
